distant desert dreams

This gallery contains photographs taken on the Colorado Plateau in the southwestern United States. Since my first visit in 2017, my interest in the region has grown even more. The fascination with this region probably lies in the stark contrast to where I live. From wide open landscapes and endless vistas to narrow red rock canyons, the landscapes of the Colorado Plateau are breathtaking. The solitude and silence that can be experienced in this region is absolutely fascinating. At the same time, it offers relatively easy access for visitors. The diverse rock formations and the quality of light in the canyons and gorges are a dream to observe and photograph. A place that I long to return to.
