March 2020

Breathtaking winter landscape from a bird's eye view - Lofoten

The Photo of the Month - March 2020

When I got my first drone a year ago, I was completely over the moon (I'm still excited about it today). However, I quickly discovered that there was a lot to learn. How do you even fly a drone, which settings can and must be made and of course the whole legal side. Insurance, badge on the drone, what do you have to pay attention to when flying, where are you allowed to fly? All things that had to be clarified little by little. Meanwhile I know about all these things and can concentrate on the actual things with the drone, video and photo recordings.

This month's picture shows my "favorite" drone picture so far. It was created on our last morning in Lofoten about 3 weeks ago. During our stay in Lofoten we had a lot of bad weather and strong wind so that I could only make 2 flights with the drone. One of them this morning. When the drone started, there were already various warning messages about the wind. The drone struggled very laboriously up and against the wind to finally arrive exactly at this point. I hurriedly took a few pictures and long before the battery warning went off, I took the drone back home. When she finally got back on the ground I was very satisfied and my fingers were already frozen after a 5 minute flight.

Today on March 17th, 2020 it seems almost unthinkable that we were in Norway 3 weeks ago. At this point I don't want to write what I think of the current extent of Corona. Whether it is right or wrong to close borders or whether restrictions on freedom of movement, culture, etc. are in relation to the number of sick people. I just want to show a picture from what feels like a different time and hope that in a few weeks we can shape our lives again as we did a few weeks ago.

Stay healthy!
