The photo of the month was taken this month in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. More precisely at the Bestei in Saxon Switzerland. Fortunately, we had planned and booked this trip for a long time. Because only shortly before that, tourist travel within Germany was allowed again. This led to the fact that many now wanted to leave their home region and travel again. Saxon Switzerland is an impressive region. Everywhere the rocks rise up out of nowhere. Many of the beautiful spots can only be reached via long hikes, which makes them particularly difficult to get to when taking pictures in the best light.
Since the sun rises very early at this time of year, the alarm clock rang early. So I set out for the bastion. When I arrived at the parking lot, I was amazed at the many cars that were already there. When I got to the first lookout point (the view of the Bastei bridge) I was even more surprised. There were already so many people there to take pictures that there was no more space. I didn't feel like standing in the crowd. So I moved on and took my pictures. The fog that stood in the entire Elbe valley was particularly beautiful that morning. After the sun had risen, the fog slowly rose and bathed the entire landscape in a mystical light. This picture was taken on the footbridges of the Neurathen Castle.
